Sherry is a fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown on the vast hills of Jerez in Andalucía, Southern Spain. It is produced in a variety of styles using a unique distilling process called a Solero system and sherry types range from light versions similar to table wines to darker heavier versions that have been allowed to oxidise as they age in oak barrels. 12 Denmark Street is the birthplace of possibly THE world’s most famous sherry ‘Harveys Bristol Cream’ created by a famous family dynasty, the Harveys in 1796, who helped to change Bristol’s fortunes.
Let us introduce you to some of the delights of sherry through our inventive cocktail list, our Sherry & Tapas Tasting Menu or our Sherry Club and discover for yourself why this little treasure of the wine world has been around for such a very long time.
