Abbotts & Delaunay wines are produced in the beautiful Aude region of the Languedoc in the small town of Marseillette. The winery is located about 15 kilometres east of the medieval citadel of Carcassonne and the town is bordered by the Black mountains of Minervois to the north and the Alaric mountains of Corbières to the south. It is an artisan winery utilising traditional concrete fermentation vats as well as stainless steel and a mixture of large and small barriques. Founded in 1996 by visionaries Nerida Abbott and Nigel Sneyd, passionate about Languedoc’s terroirs, Abbotts has established a reputation as an ‘haute couture’ winery thanks to its meticulous selection of exceptional grape varieties and parcels. This Languedoc Rouge, made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah, draws its balance from vineyards carefully selected for their exceptional soils and distinct personality. It is packed full of raspberry, cherry, and blueberry flavours with woody notes. A hint of minerality lengthens the palate and brings a beautiful freshness. Try it with roasted poultry, beef tartare, or grilled meat with herbs.
