1 x 75cl. The Leoville-Las Cases estate has long been considered one of the best in Saint-Julien, and is often compared to First Growth quality. The estate’s history dates back to the Marquis de Las Cases, who owned the entire Leoville estate until the French Revolution. The estate was subsequently divided into three, with Las Cases retaining the core of the original vineyards, a walled parcel of vines located in the north of Saint-Julien, close to the border with Pauillac. The Delon family has owned the estate since 1900, and it is today managed by Jean Hubert Delon and his sister Genevieve d’Alton. The estate’s vineyards cover 97 hectares, with Cabernet Sauvignon dominating the plantings, along with around 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Grand Vin matures in various percentages of new, French oak barrels, which vary from year to year depending on vintage characteristics. This wine is a 2nd Growth Grand Cru Classe from the 2005 vintage.
