Kaiun ‘FAU’ Kokuto Japanese Shochu is a traditional distilled beverage made from grains and vegetables. The most common base ingredients are sweet potato, barley, rice, buckwheat and sugar cane. ‘FAU’ is a luxurious and rare limited edition Shochu with 44% alcohol exclusively made from brown sugar locally grown in Amami Island. It uses only the Shochu that flows out at the beginning of distillation, which is also called first distillation. This deep-flavored Shochu has a smooth texture, and it is powerful and yet pure. Its light but vivid brown sugar aroma and sweetness is exquisite. It pairs perfectly with strawberries and citrus fruits.
