Yamazakura 963 21 Year Old is a fantastic whiskey. It is named after the postcode of the Yamazakura distillery. This Japanese whisky is made from a blend of well-aged malt and grain whiskies. Bottled at 58% ABV and aged for a minimum of 21 years, it’s a rare and well-crafted whisky. The nose has a strong bubble pop, or wax oak, character. After breathing for a while, it becomes quite floral, with notes of pear, green apple, and white wood. The palate is fruity with oaky floral notes, and it’s quite sweet, with some dark chocolate and nutmeg behind. The finish is medium long, with some oakiness.
